About

Low Down Entertainment for Your Listening & Dancing Enjoyment.

Ted Roddy has built a career on promoting roots music: blues, country, rockabilly, soul & rock-n-roll. His early career found him playing harp and singing with Dallas blues band, Mark Pollock & The Midnighters. Since then he has fronted classic Austin bands such as Teddy & The Tallops, The Tearjoint Troubadors, The Naughty Ones and The King Conjure Orchestra. His harmonica work has been featured on recordings by Dave Alvin (Interstate City), Omar Dykes (Running with The Wolf), Jello Biafra-Mojo Nixon (Prairie Home Invasion), Jimmie Dale Gilmore (Midnight Train), Charlie Robison (New Year's Day), Sunny Sweeney, Big Foot Chester, Dale Watson (Cheatin' Heart Attack), Stephen Bruton (What it is), Charley Crockett (Jukebox Charley) and Augie Meyers (White Boy). He co-starred with Nashville rocker Webb Wilder in the cult movie classic, Horror Hayride. He has been a featured guest (harmonica) on Austin City Limits (Dave Alvin, Jimmie Dale Gilmore and Monte Warden). As a member of Teddy & The Talltops, he appeared on The Nashville Network Texas Connection television show in the 90’s. Ted Roddy has hosted a twice annual Tribute to The King (Elvis) at Austin’s Continental Club since 1986. He is a member of the Austin Chronicle Texas Music Hall of Fame and was honored with a star on The South Texas Music Walk of Fame in Corpus Christi, Texas.
